Cabo San Lucas

Couple at sunset Cabo

I just fell in love with Cabo San Lucas and cannot wait to go back.  I have only been one time so I know there is so much I didn't see or do.  We were there for a friend's wedding, but we still took advantage of every day.  We enjoyed some amazing meals, boat rides, hiking, an incredible sunset massage, and  relaxing at the

Cabo San Lucas at a Glance

Cabo San Lucas is located on the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula.  Playa El Medano is Cabo's main beach, it has many outdoor restaurants and bars.

Marina Cabo San Lucas is a world-class marina offering on-site conveniences for luxury yacht owners, guests and crews.  Beyond the marina is Land's End promontory where you will find the famous natural archway and Playa del Amor (Lover's Beach).

Cabo is still considered a very safe touristy area in Mexico.  There are many resorts and private properties and they are well known for their beautiful beaches, water-based and beach activities, restaurants and nightlife.  There is something for everyone.

Dining in Cabo San Lucas

One of the reasons that we chose to stay at the Grand Solmar Land's End Resort was it's proximity to the marina and the town.  I like to explore and as much as we loved our resort and enjoyed our stay there, we really enjoyed walking (and ubering) around the area near the resort.  We enjoyed some truly amazing meals and were so impressed by some of the local restaurants.  I feel like we ate and ate and ate!  We enjoyed every place we dined at...

We loved this restaurant so much we went twice.  The atmosphere is beautiful and festive, the margaritas are delicious, and the food was outstanding.  The Verde Chicken Enchiladas, Tacos de Mar and the Lobster were our favorite!  We also loved the chips and salsa.  I had the Clase Azule skinny margarita and they served it in glasses made from the Case Azule bottle...so cute!  We loved everything about this place!

We stumbled upon this place and almost didn't go in because it was pretty empty that day and also kind of a hole in the wall.  I am am so happy we decided to give it a try.  I think we had one of the best meals we've ever had!  We had the most amazing seafood platter...lobster, crab, fish, shrimp and the best octopus I have ever eaten!  The margaritas were perfect and the chips and guacamole were the best.  Do not miss this place if you are in downtown Cabo!  I can't wait to go back!

This Italian ristorante has been a favorite in Cabo San Lucas since 1986.  You are made to feel like family when you walk through the door.  The food is outstanding and the presentation is beautiful.  We enjoyed the tableside Caesar salad, I had fresh fish and my husband enjoyed pasta.  The atmosphere is romantic and there are several dining options to choose from.

We will definitely come back for more!

We were in Cabo because our friends were getting married at The Cape at the Thompson Hotel.  One of the nights, they invited us to join them for dinner where the chef was preparing the fish they caught on their fishing trip.  Everything was fresh and delicious, the artful presentations of each dish plus the beautiful atmosphere overlooking the ocean was perfect.  They say that their name Manta has a double meaning: "a manta ray which symbolizes the kitchen's focus on seafood, while manta, the Spanish word for canvas, conveys the idea of freedom in artistic expression."

The hotel and The Manta Restaurant are both worth a visit!

We Hiked the Rocks from our Hotel to Lover's Beach

The Grand Solmar is situated right beside El Arco the distinctive landmark of Cabo San Lucas.  It is a rock formation that erupts from the sea where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez.  One morning we decided to hike through and over the rocks to Lover's beach, located on the other side from the resort.  It was not easy, but it was a great workout and the view was worth it!

Our fishing excursion was fun, although we didn't catch anything, we always love being on the water.  We saw a whale up close, which I always love!  The best part of the trip was as we were heading back to the marina this adorable sea lion hopped up on the back of the boat to enjoy our leftover bait.  We later found out that's quite common.  It was really cool! Our friends went on a different fishing excursion and caught a marlin and several other fish.  The fishing in Cabo is well known for being some of the best in the world.  I can't wait to go again next time and hopefully have better luck!

We only spent a few days in Cabo San Lucas, and I know there is so much more to see and do.  I look forward exploring and sharing more about this beautiful place.
