Bikes

You most definitely want to rent bikes!  There are so many trails and people bike everywhere, plus at low tide the beach is the perfect place to ride a bike.  Almost all of the kids in our family even learned to ride their bikes on the beach in Hilton Head.  There are several rental companies and they will all deliver the bikes to you.  You can choose which size is best for each person, add baskets, helmets, child seats, and they will provide locks.  Order ahead of time and have them there waiting when you arrive.  See some rental company recommendations below.  Depending on where you are staying you will find some locations are more convenient or available than others.  Also many offer other vacation rental equipment

Fishing

There is some great fishing in Hilton Head

There are so many options and charters available for fishing trips both off the coast and inshore in the sounds and sand bars.  My husband and I love to fish and when we are travelling somewhere we can do that, we try to make it happen.  However, we quickly learned over the years that when we are in HHI during the summer months, the charters fill up quickly and it's not necessarily the season for the best fishing that HH has to offer.  During the summer we have caught a LOT of sharks, which is fun, but not when you are hoping to catch dinner.  If you are an avid angler you can enjoy some of the best fishing around during the Fall and Spring months.  March - April is great for targeting Redfish, Trout, Sheepshead, and black drum.  April - May you can catch yummy Cobia, during the Summer our luck has been mostly sharks, but we have had some luck with Spanish Mackerel, and supposedly you can catch Tarpon and a few other species.  The Fall months are great for Big Bull Redfish and Trout.  Whatever season you go, you will surely find a great charter for your group.  A quick google search will give you some great information and options or check out the Trip Advisor link below.

Day Trip To Daufuskie Island

Located just a short boat ride from Hilton Head Island, Daufuskie Island is like taking a trip "back-in-time".  The island is accessible only by boat, and is filled with rich history thought to date back 9,000 years.  You can take a tour from HHI or like us, rent a boat and cruise over on your own.  You will most likely want to rent a golf cart if you plan to explore the island alone and there are plenty to rent just steps away from the dock.  There are many things to see along you drive around this beautiful island, including The First African Baptist Church, Mary Fields School which was built in the 1930 for the island's black children, White House School built in 1913 for white children and now houses the Daufuskie Island Historical Foundation's archives, The Bloody Point Lighthouse and Museum, a small winery, Silver Dew Winery, beautiful beaches, and more.

Horseback ride with Daufuskie Trail Rides, golf on the 29 hole golf course, dine at The Old Daufuskie Crab Co. or just relax and enjoy the pristine beaches.  Whether you take a day trip or stay a few days in one of the beautiful vacation rentals, it is definitely worth a visit!

Ferry Trips run daily every three hours from 7 am - 4 pm

Boat Rentals / Kayaks

There are seemingly endless options to find your way out on the water in Hilton Head.  From power boats, jet skis, sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, dolphin or sunset cruises, parasailing and much more.  We have rented Kayaks from multiple places and also enjoy renting private boats for a few hours and cruising around or taking a trip over to Daufuskie Island.

One of my favorite locations to quickly and easily rent from is located at Shelter Cove.  The Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina offers everything you might need and they make the rental process quick and easy!

If you are staying in Sea Pines,

The Harbour Town Yacht Basin offers year-round boat excursions and a variety of watersports

There is a fun and unique Kayak or canoe trip you can take from Hilton Head Outfitters which will take you through 11 miles of scenic lagoons.  I also like to rent fishing gear from Hilton Head Outfitters, they have everything you need.

So explore and get out on the water, there is something for every age and ability!

For forty years he has been entertaining in Hilton Head and his fun family friendly concerts have become a tradition for many vacationers.  Gregg Russell performs nightly during the summer months under the Liberty Oak Tree in Harbour Town. He also has a few performances during the Spring and around the holidays.

Greg is also well known for entertaining kids and parents on his famous Bubble Gum Cruise, which sails every Friday from Harbour Town pier.

One of our family's favorite traditions is taking a picture of the kids on a tree located at the Gregg Russell Harbour Town Playground.  This is such a a fun park, my girls loved playing there when they were younger.
