Hilton Head Restaurants

Dining on Hilton Head Island
There are too many wonderful restaurants on HHI, I could never list all of the ones that we enjoy. Here are some of the places we frequent the most along with a list of other places we have really enjoyed and are worth mentioning. There is truly something for everyone in Hilton Head. Most everywhere is family friendly and accommodating to large groups. The menus are often quite extensive and you can always find a hidden gem away from the touristy areas. I know I didn't even come close to listing all the great restaurants we love and I know there are many we haven't tried, do you have a favorite HHI restaurant? I would love to hear about it so we can give it a try!

Oceanfront Dining
Located at the Sea Pines Beach Club, Coast is a beautiful indoor outdoor beachfront restaurant. We have been coming here for years often riding our bikes down the beach or walking from our vacation rental. We all really enjoy the food. They have live music seasonally from 4pm - 7 pm, the service is always friendly and accommodating and the drinks are delicious. A family favorite is the signature Lobster roll. They get quite busy so make a reservation or plan to enjoy the view and wait for a table

Harbour Town
The Quarterdeck located in Harbour Town adjacent to the iconic lighthouse is one of our favorite places to visit when in town. It has been completely renovated in the past couple of years and now offers a full indoor outdoor dining room on the first floor and a rooftop bar with beautiful views of Harbour Town and Calibogue Sound. The food and beverages are delicious. We love to sit at the upstairs bar. They recently added a large lounge area on the upstairs patio, which is the perfect place to watch the sunset.

Landmark Waterfront Restaurant
A visit to the Skull Creek boathouse has been a tradition for my family for many many years. We have watched it grow and expand quite a bit over the past several years. We love to find a place on the patio and enjoy their expansive menu, beautiful views and delicious beverages. They have received many awards for their Lowcountry inspired cuisine. They are open for Lunch, "Sunset Supper", dinner, happy hour and weekend brunch. They are a first come first serve restaurant and they get busy, so be prepared to wait especially if you have a large group. This area of Hilton Head is truly beautiful, you won't want to miss it.

South Beach Marina
The Salty Dog has been a Hilton Head favorite since 1987. They have done an incredible job with Marketing through their recognizable merchandise that you will see people wearing all across America and beyond. I see t-shirts in Texas quite often. I have never loved their food, but we still go every year. (they do have some pretty delish fried pickles, gator bites and hushpuppies!) They have a great patio overlooking the South Beach Marina in Sea Pines. My family enjoys the menu and I love their cocktails. Our kids have enjoyed making tie dye Salty Dog shirts for years. There is a Salty Dog T-shirt store, Jake's Pizza and Ice Cream adjacent to the restaurant.

We discovered Poseidon a few years ago and really enjoy the food and atmosphere. It, like a lot of places in the summer, gets really busy so make a reservation ahead of time or plan to wait. It's a fun lively place with a large outdoor patio bar (Nauti Bar) and a lively rooftop bar. Poseidon is open M-Saturday 11am -11pm and 10am - 10pm on Sunday for their Sunday Brunch
They Rooftop Bar is open late Wed-Saturday

CQ's located just across the street from the marina nestled in the trees in the oldest building in Harbour Town, just celebrated 50 years. I love the old home and rich history in this restaurant. The food and service are top notch. This is a more upscale restaurant and the prices reflect that. You will not be disappointed.
