NYC is the kind of place I feel like you need to visit several times to really see it, and even then you probably could never truly know the city unless you lived there.  I have been lucky enough to visit several times and every time I discover something new to see or do and always wish I had more time to explore.

After that, spending more time seeing the outlying areas is fun and a completely different experience.  I loved exploring Greenwich Village and the area around NYU, and walking through Chinatown, the Lower East Side and East Village was an experience not to be missed.
