I had snorkeled Smith's Reef years before this when we rented a house that was right in front of the reef.  It was actually the first time I took my daughter snorkeling who at the time was only seven, it was so beautiful I knew I wanted to go back and do this with my husband.  I made him walk the mile and a half up the beach from our resort...it was a long walk back after snorkeling, but it was well worth it.  We saw beautiful coral, hundreds of colorful fish, Eagle rays and sea turtles.

Bight Reef (also known as Coral Gardens) was a much closer walk from our resort.  It is not quite as colorful and not nearly as big as Smith's reef, but it's easily accessible from the beach, much more shallow water, and still a very beautiuful place to see lots of colorful fish and coral.

Snorkeling off of this secluded beach is better for a more experienced snorkeler or scuba diver.  You are more likely to see larger sea life in this area.  We saw a very curious shark who followed me around while I snorkeled.

Driving to this beach is a bit rough and an adventure on it's own, check it out...

They have placed reef balls to help rebuild the reef.  They are pretty crazy to see...

Boat Tour

We rented a boat for the day and had a blast. Although not fancy like many of the other tours we read about and looked into, our captain has lived his entire life in The Turks and Caicos area, he stocked the boat with food and drinks, made us very comfortable and was so knowledgeable and fun.  He is also an incredible free diver and showed us some really cool things when snorkeling that we'd probably not have seen otherwise.  He gave us a tour of Half Moon Bay, showed us some beautiful homes, we snorkeled at a couple of different locations and just cruised around the islands.  It was a perfect day.

We had a fun day of golf at the Royal Turks and Caicos Golf Club located in the Grace Bay Region of Provo.  I was a little disappointed that the course is not not located with views of the beautiful Turquoise waters but it is still a pretty course and is not too difficult.  It was also not very busy when we were there, which was nice.  If you like to golf, I'd definitely recommend playing here at least once
